My name is Jason Pierce and I want to represent you. The purpose of City Government is to provide a safe, healthy environment to live in. As a council member I vow to be the Voice of the People. The Citizens of DuPont are not being heard nor listened to. I want to bring YOUR issues to the table, not force MY issues on you.

This is what is currently happening and why our City is in a state of turmoil and mistrust. In today's representative democracy, when our government is supposed to be open and accountable to its citizens, I find it disappointing that when a citizen chooses to express an opinion that differs from that which is proposed by our elected officials, that citizen becomes the target of derision and mistrust.  Our elected officials are suppose to be open minded and solicit all opinions, not just those that are aligned with their thinking. The final decision concerning an issue becomes clearer when all sides are discussed openly.
